WOMEN AND MEN IN DIFFERENT LABOUR MARKET SECTORS
3.4
Dealing with minorities – what is your experience?
With the example of Dalit women in Nepal, we saw that it is not only gender that determines labour market participation. Labour market segregation also occurs along the lines of other social categories such as ethnicity, religion, or disability, creating disadvantages in access to decent work.
In your own surroundings, do you see a segregation of the labour market that disadvantages minorities or marginalised groups, such as indigenous people or people with disabilities? Write down your thoughts.
