MS Word: metadata
Files not only have a file name, they may also be described by numerous metadata. These metadata can be read by screen readers and help your students to find/identify the file.
Metadata
Here’s how to enter metadata in MS Word:
- File > Information > Properties
- Specify the document name, tags and any comments.
- Make sure that you are listed as the author. This is particularly important if you are not working on your own computer or are not logged in to your account.
Please note that the document name you set here will appear as the window or tab name for a PDF converted from the document.
Watermarks
Avoid using watermarks. These make the document difficult to read for people with visual impairments.
