Is hyper reading good for you?
Paper & Pencil Task
By the Internet Society’s count, Internet usage differs widely from country to country, ranging from 1% to over 95% (Internet Society: Global Internet penetration).
In 2016, over 3 billion people were using the Internet, which means over 3 billion hyper readers. Hyper reading has become a routine, everyday practice for a substantial minority on earth. Against this background, consider these three theses and reflect on one of them:
1. Hyper reading helps make the world a better place by connecting people and information all over the world and furthering the free exchange of ideas.
2. Hyper reading is an efficient way of accessing information and gaining knowledge.
3. Hyper reading is distracting and negatively affects our ability to understand texts.
