What does distant reading look like?
Philipp Schweighauser introduces you to the Stanford Literary Lab, a team of researchers that use scientific methods and computer programs to identify recurring patterns and large-scale historical developments in literature.
The video also shows you an example of distant reading performed by the Lab and gives you an opportunity to consider the uses and limitations of this reading strategy.
