ONE HEALTH CASE STUDIES I

Animals for therapy
Animal-assisted therapy is also understood as a One Health approach. It has gained momentum over the last years, being applied in hospitals, psychiatric or rehabilitation clinics, prisons and schools.
As research has shown, patients benefit from the contact with animals. Their biosocial health and well-being is improved. On the other hand, if certain conditions are observed, animals may also enjoy this contact – for instance as they accomplish a task.
Watch Karin Hediger share her experiences with this approach.
